1. Oil Tasting at Tenuta Bianco in Ugento
Start your sensory journey with a visit to Tenuta Bianco, where you can immerse yourself in the wonderful world of extra virgin olive oil. You will be welcomed into the warehouse, a fascinating place where the oil is stored in large silos. The tasting begins with a unique moment: you will warm an ampoule containing the first oil with your hands, to fully appreciate its aroma.
Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to taste first and second harvest oils, accompanied by fresh bread made from ancient grains. Don’t miss the oils flavoured with garlic, basil, chilli and sage, which will take your senses on a journey of flavours. To complete the experience, you can enjoy their olive and almond pâté, all accompanied by a fine wine from Michele Calò & figli. The tour costs about 25.00 euro and is a unique opportunity to discover the secrets of Salento’s olive oil.
2. Tasting and Visit to the Vineyards at Donna Palma
Continuing your gastronomic tour, you cannot miss the tasting and visit to the vineyards of Donna Palma. This experience will introduce you to the world of Salento wine, with a guided tour through the vineyards, where you can admire the vines and learn about cultivation techniques.
The basic tour includes the tasting of 3 glasses of wine of your choice, accompanied by snacks with typical local products. Again, the cost is approximately EUR 25.00. This is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the Salento wine tradition and taste wines that tell the story of the area.
3. Orecchiette con la Nonna Tetta at “A Locanda Tù Marchese”
If you want an authentic culinary experience, you cannot miss the ‘Orecchiette con la Nonna Tetta’ workshop at ‘A Locanda Tù Marchese’. Here you will have the chance to learn how to make the famous orecchiette, minchiareddhi and sagne ncannulate, under the expert guidance of Nonna Tetta.
The experience also includes a full dinner with appetisers, two first courses, dessert and drinks, all prepared with fresh ingredients from our farm. The cost for this complete experience is around 60 euro, and is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the traditional cuisine of Salento.
