“A Locanda tù Marchese” is a trattoria, steakhouse, and winery in Salento, in Matino in the province of Lecce.

Here the real protagonist is the poor cuisine of the past: the tasty rustic and homemade dishes of the Apulian and Salento tradition are prepared and served here with love. A way to make Salento known, a way to return to smell those scents and taste those flavours, which remind us of our history, our roots.

In addition, the area dedicated to the STEAKHOUSE offers different cuts of local and non-local meats, matured in Dry Aeger (meat maturation), and flavoured with spices, sauces and side dishes.

At “A Locanda tù Marchese“, a typical restaurant in Salento, guests and non-guests of our B&B in Matino, will find the dishes of the Apulian and Salento gastronomic tradition, which fall within the dictates of the Mediterranean Diet. Since 2010, this set of simple dishes, common to the populations of the Mediterranean, is the evidence of an “Intangible Cultural Heritage“, recognized and protected by UNESCO. The special combination of legumes, cereals, vegetables and greens, meat and fish create a mix of flavours and smells, perfectly able to describe the territory.

Our collaboration with Coldiretti’s farmers and breeders within the Campagna Amica project is a further guarantee of seasonality and genuineness of the ingredients, essential factors of the Mediterranean Diet.

Who better than her, together with Chef Daniele, with her skilled hands, to take care of these exceptional ingredients. Professionalism and ancient housewife knowledge, son-in-law and mother-in-law come together by proposing generational recipes, to savour the Salento of the past.
